Welcome to EveryDNS.net — our project to provide free dns services to the internet community.

We provide static DNS services as well as many advanced services such as Dynamic DNS resolution, Secondary service, AXFR service, and domain2web redirection. Of course, our primary service is free DNS.

Since our start in June of 2001 we have proved to be a reliable and secure service and we have no intention of changing that. A $15-$30 dollar donation is appreciated to help our services grow and improve. Thank you for your support of this free service.

The Oracle installer works well with libc6-2.3.2 but in the newer versions (2.3.5/6) it gives the following error

./runInstaller: line 141: 16517 Segmentation fault $CMDDIR/install/runInstaller SHOW_CUSTOM_TREE_PAGE=false $*

using GDB

Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.
0xb7e2a640 in fread () from /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libc.so.6

This is only when you run as a user other than root. The installer works well as root but does not allow installation.

ldd gives this output

linux-gate.so.1 => (0xffffe000)
libc.so.6 => /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libc.so.6 (0xb7e97000)
/lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0xb7fd3000)

The problem can be resolved by commenting this portion in the oraparm.ini file in the install folder

GNOME Extra Setup
Normally, when you copy something in an X application and you close it, the content of the clipboard is lost. This is probably one of the biggest reasons why people keep saying that copy & paste in Linux “doesn’t work”.

GNOME Clipboard Daemon is a program that keeps the content of your X clipboard in memory, so the clipboard won’ get lost even after you close the application you copied from. It’s a daemon - it has no GUI. You start it and it’ll run in the background and Just Work(tm).
